You can know what you’re doing AND things can still be hard.
That part might be the hardest as I get farther and farther into adulting.
You know, except all of the rest of it.
There are some things that I’m really, really good at.
Need clinic operations strategy? 50-state Medicare set up? RCM program? I can handle that without hesitation.
Need to hear that you’re enough, that you’re a gem, that you deserve the whole world? Gimme a minute. I’m on it.
Need a friend? A mom who loves you unconditionally even when you call her every 3.2 seconds? A couple of words strung together? BOOM.
But even being good or great at the things that I excel at doesn’t make all of the rest of the stuff easy.
Running a business is hard, no matter how good you are at it.
Business development is hard, no matter how good you are at it.
Managing people is hard, no matter how good you are at it.
Parenting is hard, no matter how good you are at it. Also, I’ve never met a person who feels they are good at it, so there’s that.
There’s no roadmap for any of this.
It’s all just a balancing act of failing at certain things while killing it at others and hoping that you end up a tiny bit ahead at the end of each day. Or more days than you don’t.
I’ve yet to find the days that are outright easier. I’ve just found the ones where the balance is just better.

There. I said it. Stop wasting time trying to keep me from finding out you aren't perfect.
I know you aren't.
You know you aren't.
Stop being an asshole.
