It’s not your employee’s job to find coverage for their shift if they’re sick.
They get to JUST BE SICK.
They aren’t only sick if they can get coverage.
They’re sick regardless, and sick is a reason to not work — no matter how inconvenient that is for the company.
They don’t have to just stay until the next person gets there or hold out as long as possible.
They aren’t screwing anyone over by being sick.
They’re sick.
It’s the leadership’s job to figure that out.
So . . . figure it out.
